Ansuman Biswas is a contemporary hermit, who has 'hermed' at Shugborough Hall and the Manchester Museum. He was born in India.
He seems to have running water and a toilet though, even having a webcam...
It seems not having a beard doesn't stop a hermit-wasn't there a hermit who used a goat's beard?
