About me
I am Dave Jones - pedant, trivia lover, and all round pain-in-the-ass. As a computer scientist, my hobbies naturally include graphic design and engineering(?!). The hobby which takes up most of my time is DVD creation, through which I have now increased my collection of TV series by a large margin. I am something of a 'language nazi', but only when it really matters (dodgy tenses, nonsensical sentences) and not just for the sake of it (I really don't care about split infinitives or using a preposition to end a sentence with). I do my best to avoid messing with the style of someone else's writing unless it is absolutely necessary.
Books that I have
Format shamelessly stolen from Sanity and thus the list is formed from the bibliography.

Non-Discworld stuff
I'm a fan of;
- Dr. Who - well, someone has to be a fan, and it's season 29 this year NOT season 3
- Heroes - only just started up but it looks interesting
- House - sheer class
- Hustle - smooth, slick, and delightfully daft
- Life On Mars - sheer genius
- Monk - brilliant so far, although I think they're starting to run out of ideas after 4 seasons
- Red Dwarf - all 8 seasons on DVD, but I admit it goes downhill after season 5 or so
- The Amazing Race - haven't seen much of it, but my schadenfreude caused me to enjoy it immensely when I saw one episode in which half of the teams still in the race managed to fill their cars with the wrong type of petrol despite it saying "DIESEL" in big letters on the petrol-tank cover
- Time Team - I don't know why, it's just addictive
I'm sure I shall put more uninteresting guff about me on here from time to time. If you want me to put something specific on here, just ask.
