The network of intelligent but not self-willed robots and computers that co-ordinate the running of the other Discworld. Each is competent in its own sphere of expertise, but without a Chairman, they are helpless to prevent the growing entropy that threatens the continued existence of the disc.
Kin Arad becomes Chairman of the Committee, and is able to put together temporary repairs that stop the situation getting any worse.
