Djel

The river along which Djelibeybi is situated. It provides fresh water in an otherwise dry and desertlike environment on the coast of Klatch. The water is inhabited by crocodiles. The Discworld Mapp shows it entering into the Circle Sea through a delta, rather than the usual river mouth, in much the same way as the Nile enters the Mediterrean Sea.

Djelibeybi literally mean 'Child of the Djel'.
