The Duke Cido de Haberdasherin, Defender of the Mezzanine, Lord Protector of the Up Escalator, Autocrat of the Staff Canteen and Knight of theCounter, is the head of one of the Nome clans, or departments, who have colonised the Store. As the name implies, the Haberdasheri trade in fabrics and clothing material and all sundry supplies, and barter their wares with the other Store families. Angalo de Haberdasheri is his son, and destined to play a leading role in the future of the Nome race.
